Congratulations to the 23 members of the DCS Jazz Band. We had 100% attendance and played our music the best we have played this year. The audience, directors and judges had many positive remarks about the group. This was a great beginning for Jazz program. A special congratulations to the following soloists, Lydia M alto sax, Michelle H. flute, Jake S. flugal horn, Alyssa B. vocal, Stephan W. piano, Josh R. drums, Patrick W. drums, and Joey W. bass.

Jazz Band Clackamas Community College DCS Dessert
I gave a hand out to the students 2 weeks ago but do not know how many students gave it to their parents so they would know what is going on.
This week is a busy one for the Jazz Band. We have our normal rehearsal on Monday morning. Tuesday at noon, the rhythm section and soloists rehearse.
Wednesday morning Jazz Band has an extra rehearsal at 7:30 AM
Thursday at noon, the rhythm section and soloists rehearse. Also on Thursday, during regular advanced band, we will rehearse the Jazz band.
Friday, the Jazz Band will leave DCS at 12:30 and go to CCC. WE STILL NEED ONE MORE DRIVER. We will listen to a few bands, go to warmup and perform in the auditorium for other bands and the adjudicators. We will have a formal picture taken after the performance and then be back at DCS around 4:30 PM. Parents are welcome to attend.
Saturday we are performing for the DCS Fine Arts Fair and Dessert. The band members need to be at DCS at 5:30, we will be performing 6 selections. The performance starts at 6 PM. Jazz Band members need to be picked up at 7 PM, unless they are staying at the school for the Dessert.
JAZZ BAND MEMBERS MUST DRESS UP TO REPRESENT OUR SCHOOL AND OUR BAND.
BANDS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS WILL BE UNIFORMS AND TUXEDOS.

"I have no pleasure in any man who despises music. It is no invention of ours: it is a gift of God. I place it next to theology. Satan hates music: he knows how it drives the evil spirit out of us"
